Squad Deathmatch in HardCore mode...
I'm not suggesting this for our server... it really wouldn't have any kind of staying power with our style of play... but getting some variety can be nice sometimes, and I like to pop in on this kinda game here and there... and have found it a nice change of pace.
One of the odd benefits... Every Class is a feckin' killer; suddenly the engineer's pea-shooter is a 2-hit wonder, and as it's silenced, you don't get the entire server bearing down on your location.
if anyone decides to give it a go, some tips for survival and score:
1. Shhhhhhhhh! Crouch or use the iron-sites walk to go quietly, whoever gives away their position first is usually the dead one.
2. Accuracey is king: it doesn't take more than a couple bullets of any caliber to down an enemy, so always go with the accurate or high fire rate weapon.
3. Want points? be a medic! You don't recover health in HC mode, so people are in constant need of healing or reviving... BUT, for the love of god, if you fire your weapon, get the hell out of your position, as the tracers and noise will have the entire server shooting in your general direction
4. again with the stealth... use quiet weapons without tracers (engineer, low-caliber sniper rifles) the less your enemies know about your location, the better your survival.
5. Tap Tap Tap that mouse button... accuracy is king, and it only takes a couple bullets, slow your rate of fire and take time to aim.
6. Don't want to be a medic? find one... or kill one if he's not on yer squad and drop a health pack... you will need it sooner or sooner.
7. There is usually one vehicle up for grabs on each map... if you're balls are big enuf, jump in... but you'd better keep moving, as you're like a human fucking pinata in that thing.
8. Urban Maps: Find an intact building and stay put... take pot-shots at people sillyl enuf to run around the map, they die quickly... turn your volume up AND LISTEN FOR FOOTSTEPS... people haven't gotten the clue to be sneaky yet... Stay up stairs so you can hear them on the stairways..
9. Jungle maps: get cozy with a bush... again, people that run around over open fields might as well paint a huge target on their forhead.
So that's it for now... someone give this stuff a try and tell me if it works for them... and if it does.. maybe you can help me out by telling me how the fuck I can make the assault class usefull to me in the regular game?? does it really just come down to that damned grenade launcher???

I've played Squad Deathmatch but not on hardcore mode and it was nothing like that, everyone just ran around like maniacs, it was an absolute meat grinder. Not bad thought once you got used to the pace.
I quite like the sound of what you've had video, where you're all just stalking each other.
