So cunts, what's yours????????
I have really enjoyed the time i put into it yesterday, but I have reverted beck to my old sneaky sniper with mortar role., I have unlocked 3 of the snipers and still think the first one is the better, which does not make sense, although the second unlock has got multi bullet so is better for a shit shot like me!
I have only suffered 1 CTD upto now and other than a mild bit of lag on one server the experience has been peachy.
If anyone still having problems, try going into your steam account settings and tick the box for the BETA steam Client and opt in for that, this may sort your crashes etc
Tis very consoly but its a blast, managed to squad up with vin, mugs n salv and really works well.
I look forward to seeing what the squad death match is like as i think that will be a cracker
So as you can tell, this has made me moist, its the best shooter I've played for a long time and i am really looking forward to march for the full release.
It will be interesting to see how much the servers are going to be as this....i am sure will be the next clan game boys
The houses collapsing do sound like an old galleon creaking tho!!!!! |

I'm not one for the melee shit i like to draw out the knife but i did get use to it yesterday
The sniper should be better when the 12x zoom unlock is opend if you want to have a laugh try flying one of those fucking helicopters
In need of manual on that one but it was funny |

Looks like a console port.
Plays like a console port.
Difficult to work out who the enemy are.
Fuzzy console port graphics (sorry but will bang on about it)
But......best chance we have of having a BF game to bring us all together.
Just hope the complete game has more to offer.

i dont agree, graphics seem alrite to me, enemy wear different outfits and are generaly comin from the opposite direction so how hard can it be to spot them, and if you want a game that isnt a port you need to buy off a pc only company, but not many of them left now tho..

Now, everyone knows how i like to grip my shaft while sitting infront of the PC...but this time the shaft in question is my sidewinder force feedback2 joystick. I have managed to get this to work in game but as a lot of the forums show the throttle slider is not implemented yet, my prob is that when i try to use the yaw function when i rotate my shaft, its reversed no matter what setting i put it too...any ideas boys |

I got BC 2 set up yesturday and played a few rounds with Salv and couple other and I really enjoyed the game. Good action and pace, it's quite full on at times but still allows for some tactics.
Any issues I have I can't guarantee it's not just because it's the beta version so I'll wait for the box before deciding.

So QA found out a debug setting we used for logging errors was causing the CTD's after DICE left last night. As such the patch is good to be released and is going live within the hour.
Steam is now running the update as well for all Steam users.
You can update automatically when loading BFBC2 or you can manually run the updater from your install directory (run as Administrator if you experience update issues or errors)
As promised here is the Changelog for R3 as provided by Kalms.
Quote:
This update is about performance and stability again. We are not doing any changes to the game's datafiles.
Reduced input "lag"
On machines where the CPU would out-run the GPU, sometimes the GPU would queue up several frames' worth of rendering commands.
This could lead to the game having a high framerate, but input still feeling very sluggish.
Now there's a limiter on how many frames the CPU is allowed to be "ahead" of the GPU.
Control this setting via Settings.ini. Default setting: RenderAheadLimit=2
Performance optimizations with biggest improvements on dual-core machines
Fixed black "masks"
The soot on buildings with holes in them had a bugged renderpath. We switched that over to a more well-tested renderpath.
Improved hit-detection
We've gone through the hit detection logic, and client+server will now give more consistent results.
Fix for some "rubberbanding" issues
C4 should stay attached to vehicles and not rubberband around
Reduced spikes/dips in framerate
Various fixes for alt+tab related CTD on Dx9
More fixes for random CTD on Dx9
Fix for crash when you're in a vehicle that gets destroyed
There was a race condition in the code;
System 1 thought "oh hey, you're leaving vehicle X"
System 2 thought "the vehicle got destroyed, let's remove it"
If system 2 ran before system 1, chaos would ensue.
This was actually fixed in the retail version since a month, but it was only when we got detailed crash reports from the community that we understood *why* the Beta was crashing.
Likely bugs in this build
I wouldn't be surprised if it (still) has trouble remembering your settings between rounds. It would be nice to have that fixed too, but it's better to get a patch out now, and look at the settings issues afterward. |
